The Shop & Since 1492
Williamsburg’s motorcycle spot/club, The Shop, has had a several painted signs in its history. Due to the fact they are opening a new cafe/bar in the same space, called Since 1492, the storefront was in need of a make-over.
Mitch power washed the front with heavy duty paint stripper to buff the previous paint job and graffiti, consequently showcasing the beautiful brick hiding underneath. Using minimal colors and a font, which was semi-gothic but would fit with The Shop’s script logo, we painted the area above the door/take-out window for Since 1492. Cluttering of the various logos was eliminated by sectioning off “The Shop” and hand painting its logo on the gate. The last steps were to paint the grey concrete on the left side of the building black and apply anti-graffiti coating. That last coat of black paint helped tie it all together.
